Beautiful Skin is one of the asset which every women desire, I say it asset because it’s hard to get and maintain but easy to lose. Like everyone I am also fond of clean and clear skin though I am not that mad for fairness of the skin. My skin was heavily damaged due to some of the cosmetic products I used in past. I had acne scars, black spots, pigmentations, uneven skin tone and the texture of the skin was dull. I tried various facials, massages, masks and face packs and other home remedies to cure my skin but the result was not that impressive. I just wanted to get rid of these skin problems as soon as possible. Then I decided to visit a reputed beauty clinic in my town and undergone some of the beauty treatments, and today I am quite happy with the results of these treatment. Let me brief about the treatments I went through
First of all the upper layer of my skin was heavily damaged, so rather than curing it with beauty product the best option was to just peel it off. Chemical Peels are made of various fruits Acids that will remove the upper layer of your facial Skin. The peel used on my skin was AHA Chemical Peel that is also known as Glycolic Peel. AHA stands for Alpha hydroxy acids. As per the doctor this is one of the safest peel which is mild in nature and has no side effects on the skin. I had to visit the clinic every 15 days for sitting of chemical peeling. And I went through 10 sittings to cure my facial skin. Uneven skin tone and dark spots were remarkably reduced. After 10 sittings, I was advised to go for maintenance sittings once in every 3 months.
Photofacial / IPL
Photofacial and IPL are not the same but IPL is one way of doing photofacial. And in my case IPL was used for photofacial. Photofacial basically treats the problems at inner layers of your skin. After chemical peeling my upper layers of the skin were reasonably improved but the dark spots and pigmentation deep inside the skin was making the skin look bad. And after treating the upper layer this under the skin problem became more visible. I was asked to undergo photofacial treatment once in a week for 7 weeks in a row. Then once a month for up to six months in case the results are not satisfactory. Maintenance sittings are advised based on intensity of the problem and results achieved in first two months. Usually maintenance sittings are advised once in six months time.
Laser Hair Treatment
Facial hair is one of the roadblocks in gaining beautiful looking skin. It makes your skin look dull and dark, and visible facial hair really looks bad on the skin. So laser hair removal was performed on my facial skin where some less visible hair around the upper lips, chin and cheeks were removed. This laser treatment was performed on monthly basis (one sitting in a month) for 12 months. And I was satisfied with the results, because it was very hard to find a single tiny or thin hair on my face.
Photofacial combined with Peel
Last 2 sittings of photofacial were combined with chemical peels. That means photofacial was performed while peel was applied on my facial skin. This was done for better and faster results. Though this will leave some red marks and irritation on the skin but I won’t say it side effect because it’s temporary for a day or two.
Medicines for Acne and Uneven Skin
I was prescribed some of the tablets to cure dark spots and acne on my skin including multivitamins. Multivitamins are required throughout the treatment because it’s a great booster for skin tone rectification and skin health. Some ointments to apply on my skin those were helpful in eradicating pimples and dark spots. Other ointments were prescribed to take care of redness and irritation caused by chemical peeling and photofacial. One medical sun screen lotion was also prescribed to me in order to protect my skin from sun damage.
By going through these treatments I was very pleased with my skin and it was unbelievable for me to have the skin that I never thought. However these treatments demand some cautions and discipline. These treatments make your skin very sensitive after the treatment so any little friction may cause irritation for couple of days after treatment. You also have to protect your skin from sun exposure because sun damage will make greater impact on your skin while you are undergoing these beauty treatments.
