Summers are here and it comes with some exciting lifestyle trens while some problematic dangers for your body and skin. Sun rays, heat, chlorine in human sweat and humidity can make many damages to your skin. Sun rays are very intense and strong in summer and that can cause rashes, wrinkles, age spots and even skin cancer. While higher heat and humidity in the environment can cause breakouts, clogged pores and it makes your skin prone to other skin infections while chlorine in your sweat dries out on your skin may cause more problems. But you don’t need to worry as every problem comes with it’s solution, and these summer problems has many solutions you can follow. Keep Your Skin Moisturized
People often develop misconception that in summer they don’t need to use external moisturizers due to hot and humid environment. But this is not true, your skin will need proper moisturization in summer too. The fact is that your skin will less dry in these days but still your skin will need proper moisturization. You should rather use light and water based moisturizers for your facial skin and body. You can definitely skin your heavy creams and serum in summers.
Sunscreen
Just moisturization won’t work for you, in addition to proper moisturization you will need proper protection from dangerous sun rays. So you should choose products that provide broad spectrum protection from Ultraviolet A UVA and Ultraviolet B UVB rays with minimum SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 15. Apply sunscreen properly with enough quantity on your face and open body parts before you go out in Sun. And also reapply sunscreen every two hours until you are out in Sun. Note that in cloudy days also you need to apply sunscreen as sun rays will be present to harm your skin on those days too.
Protect Your Lips
We usually forget to protect our lips and concentrate only on our skin. But you should not forget to protect your lips from Sun rays. Always use lip balm which contains sun protection factor SPF at least 15. This will keep your lips safe from harmful sun rays.
Choose Summer Makeup
You should use liquid foundation with mineral based powder with minimum SPF of 15. You should avoid cream based blush and try to natural looking glow with bronzing powder. Use mascara which is waterproof that will protect your makeup while you are swimming. Also make sure your lipstick which has tinted gloss. Use self tanner, spray tan or airbrushing in order to minimize chances of wrinkles, age spots and skin cancer.
Cover Your Skin
In summer use of sunscreen is essential but you should also cover up your body parts to protect it from sun rays. You should use long sleeved shirts, wide hat, and sunglasses to protect maximum parts of your face and body. You can also try clothes specially made for sun protection. Note that darker fabrics which are tightly woven have better sun protection properties compared to light weight and light hued fabrics.
Exfoliate Your Skin Regularly
In summers, sun heat, sweat and use of sunscreen will add amount of dead skin cells that will build up on your face and body skin. You should get away with it with exfoliating scrub, use it twice a week. It will also remove unwanted dead skin, spots and dirt from your skin.
Safe Shaving
In summer you tend to keep your body parts open in order to save yourself from hot and humid environment. This will expose your skin to external environment and sun rays. This will make your skin dry. You will take shower more often which will add more dryness to your skin. In this situations shaving will add more dryness to your skin. So always use moisturizer based shaving cream or gel. Replace your razor more often and try to use razor which contains moisturizer based strip.
