Fatigue is a physical and mental feeling associated with lack of energy and motivation to do any work. Fatigue and drowsiness is lightly different, fatigue is commonly associated with desire to sleep or take rest. Fatigue can be intense or mild; sometimes it’s just a feeling of not doing anything, while sometimes intense enough to hamper our normal life. Fatigue can be identified by impaired concentration, headache, muscle or joint pain or un-refreshing sleep. As a common man we may encounter fatigue in various conditions and times. People usually take fatigue lightly but also accept it as major roadblock on leading normal healthy life. So, here are some easy tips to fight fatigue.

Eating Habits

Unhealthy eating habits for weight loss or weight gain can impact your normal body functioning. Any aggressive efforts for weight loss by crash dieting are not healthy options. Also never eliminate any food item from your meals completely; it may starve your body from vital nutrients. You must understand that weight loss and fit body can be achieved by healthy lifestyle and not crash dieting.  Healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits will help you to fight fatigue.

Don’t Skip Breakfasts

People usually skip breakfast to avoid adding extra calories into their body. But as mentioned earlier in my post on Don’t Skip Your Healthy Morning Breakfast skipping your breakfast will do much damage than benefits. Skipping breakfast will also add unplanned snacking throughout the day. You will also feel more hunger at the time of lunch and eat more than you should eat generally at lunch time. Taking more meals at later part of the day will also give you less time for digestion and will add more problems. Hence the best policy is to take healthy breakfast in morning regularly.

Regular Workouts

Being active and exercising regularly will help you to fight fatigue and keep yourself energized. Regular exercise and workouts will also keep away many life threatening diseases. Note that you should do exercise and workouts according to your stamina, doing excess exercising will make you tired and make more damage than any benefit. Regular exercising should be supported by healthy lifestyle, healthy diet plan and positive attitude. Researchers have proven that people who exercise regularly face less fatigue and feel energized almost all the time, and also stay healthy.

Control Stress

I have asked my readers to keep the stress away to fight many deadly diseases and lead healthy lifestyle. You can learn more about relieving stress in my previous post on How Can I Relieve Stress? Stress will make your breathing shallow; hence the oxygen supply to your body will be impaired which is one of the major causes of fatigue. If you feel low energy levels, hopelessness, lack of concentration, shallow memory, restlessness, mood swings, frequent headaches and stomach problems are major symptoms of stress. If you identify any of these symptoms then you should check yourself for stress and make every positive effort to fight the stress.

Control Overeating

Overeating is the one of the worst habit that affects your good health. Overeating will cause loss of energy which will cause fatigue. When you overeat, your stomach will have hard time in digesting it. Which will cause tiredness and fatigue for next few hours after taking the meal. Hence instead of overeating you should take several small meals which will ensure constant blood flow in your body and also maintain sugar and insulin levels which will keep fatigue away. Small, healthy and frequent meals will keep you healthy and keep all diseases away.

Strengthen Your Body

Today sedentary lifestyle and fad diets makes your body energy less and weak. So, regular exercise, healthy diet and being physically active will keep your body fit and fine. Regular physical activities and exercise will keep your joints protected and functional for longer time. Being physically active will keep your muscles, bones and body strong and flexible which is essential to beat the fatigue.

Get Tested for Anemia

Anemia is deficiency of red blood cells in your blood which will cause extreme fatigue. So, even after modifying your lifestyle and diet you are not able to beat the fatigue, you should get yourself tested for anemia. Consult your doctor if you are feeling constant fatigue, it could be symptom of any disease including anemia. You should eat iron rich food to keep anemia away.

Side Effect of Medicines

Some of the medications may cause several side effects and impact your body adversely. And fatigue, tiredness and drowsiness are some of the symptoms of such medication side effects.

Sometimes excess fatigue might be an indication of any disease so if you don’t observe any improvements even after modifying your lifestyle by below tips then consult your doctor for further diagnosis.
