A decorated mobile phone or mobile phone case adds a spark to your overall personality, and as a girl I can understand the urge of any girl for having decorated mobile phone cover. Decoration can be done on mobile phone itself (except the screen) or a mobile phone case in case you want to play safe. Here I will share the steps to decorate a mobile phone, which is equally true on a mobile phone battery cover, mobile phone case or mobile phone cover.

First of all let’s prepare a list of items you will need to decorate your mobile phone

  1. Nail Polish
  2. Nail Polish Remover
  3. Glue
  4. Masking tape (optional)
  5. Stickers (matching to your phone)
  6. Crystals
  7. Stick-on Jewels (optional)
  8. Other accessories if you want

Prepare for Nail Polish Paint

If you are interested in painting your phone cover or phone case with nail polish, then believe me it’s an easiest way to decorate your mobile phone. You don’t need any painting expertise in doing so. First of all do a patch test by applying some nail polish on a corner of the phone case or phone cover to make sure that your mobile phone is able to handle and sustain the nail polish color. If you see any problems, remove it immediately with nail polish remover or alcohol.

Decide the Design and Paint it

If you are not very good at painting and doing this first time then select a small design that covers 25% of the area on phone cover and let the remaining part plain. Draw the design with a marker or pencil and fill colors with nail polish. Choose the colors carefully. Make sure you don’t spoil the screen, buttons, speakers or camera lenses; best thing is to protect them with masking tapes. Paint the design with one color and remaining part with other matching color. Now you can find your phone different and good looking.

Let it Dry

Give double coats of the paint for a better finishing and let it dry for at least 5 to 6 hours. This is because nail polish will take time to stick and dry on surface of mobile phone case. It may look like dry but it could be wet inside, hence give it enough time to dry. Keep it away from dust and clumsy place. Make sure the painted part doesn’t get in physical contact with any other object, not even you.

Apply Stickers and Jewels

Once the painting is over on your mobile phone case then apply some stickers on plain area (the remaining 75%) as per your choice. Show some creativity in selecting and pasting stickers to make your phone more attractive. You can add some more shine by sticking crystals and jewels matching to the paint and stickers. Choose a sticking pattern wisely and try with little objects and then progress as your find interesting.

Precautions and Warnings

Make sure your phone is suitable to carry nail polish paint, otherwise get a proper paint that is suitable to your phone surface. Stickers and Jewels can be difficult to remove in case you make any mistakes or you change your mind, so stick it selectively and carefully. And apply any decoration on the replaceable part of the phone so that you can easily replace it in case you change your mind. For example you should do it on battery cover, or purchase a slick phone cover and decorate it so that I can be easily replaced. Never decorate the screen area which can’t be easily replaced.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs. Samsung Galaxy S3 – My Valentine Gift Decision

Yesterday was the day when I had to choose between Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3. Yes, It was a Valentine gift from my husband in advance, so on the day of love I can roam with a new smartphone. I shared my research and findings on the mobile phones I assessed in previous post “Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2, Nokia Lumia 920, Sony Xperia S and HTC One X – My Review“. Yesterday we went to Samsung store in nearby Mall and inquired about these two smartphones which I had shortlisted, and the following is what I found

1. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is far superior than Samsung Galaxy S3 in terms of screen size, strength of the glass, size and width, accessories and features. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 contains all the features that Samsung Galaxy S3 has, but vice versa is not true.

2. Samsung slashed prices of these two smartphones few days back, Note 2 and Galaxy S3 got cheaper 10% to 20% in almost all countries. Is this an indication of S4 coming? The salesperson confirmed that worldwide launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 is possibly on 15th April and shipments should be start flowing by May 2013. So, I had a lucrative offer for both these smartphones.

3. Definitely Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is bigger and bulkier than Samsung Galaxy S3, and at times one can face difficulties in smooth handling of this phone. But this is a teething issue and must go away as one gets used to new device. And as compared to whole lot of features offered by Note 2, this limitation is too tiny to focus.

4. Should I wait for Galaxy S4 or buy Note 2? I got this question answered when I took a look at features of Samsung Galaxy Note 2. By this time Galaxy S3 was out of competition, now Note 2 and Galaxy S4 were competing. Galaxy Note 2 is enabled with 4G LTE network, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, 140.9 mm (5.5″) HD Super AMOLED (1,280 x 720) display, 80.5 x 151.1 x 9.4 mm of dimensions, 182.5 gram of weight, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB external memory, microSD slot (up to 64GB) and many more features which kicked Galaxy S4 out of competition.

5. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has some unique features which are specific to Note 2 or Galaxy series of mobile phones which also grabbed my attention. It has S Pen Experience which is unique in itself,

  • Air View,
  • Popup Note, Popup Video, S Beam, Samsung AllShare Play & Control, Samsung AllShare Cast and other services as below
  • Samsung TouchWiz / Samsung L!ve Panel
  • Samsung Kies /Samsung Kies Air
  • Samsung ChatOn mobile communication service
  • Smart Stay, Direct call, Screen Recorder, Quick Glance
  • Samsung ChatOn mobile communication service
  • Samsung S Suggest

6. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has fascinating 8 MP main camera with LED Flash and 1.9 MP front camera. It has ability to take best pictures in low light too. Nokia is making this as selling point for Nokia Lumia 920 while Samsung Galaxy Note 2 silently placed all the features in their Galaxy smartphones.

7. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has some more unique and cool abilities like

  • While you are messaging, just hold your phone and put it on your ear, it will call the contact of that message
  • Hold your thumb on the screen and turn the phone by 90 degrees, it will start the camera
  • It has eye sensor, so it will not turn off the display until your eyes are looking at the screen
  • It has amazing voice control system, you can receive any call or take any action by just a single voice command
  • It has Google Play Store and Samsung Apps Store from where you can download thousands of free Apps.

So, these were enough list of features and abilities for me to make a purchase decision, and I finally decided to purchase Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in Marble White color. It’s packaging in very small box is unique and easy to carry. The box contains earphone, ear buds, USB cable cum charger and the main device. It took 2 minutes for one time configuration and the device for ready to use.

Thanks by beloved hubby for the exciting and lovely valentine gift, I will remember and cherish these moments forever.
