For some women, selecting and wearing a bra is a nightmare. This is because of problems like the underwires dig into the breasts, straps tear apart the back fat, cups are not capable of holding the breasts and finally it becomes  bad experience of wearing the bra. This all happens due to wrong bra size. Wearing a perfect fit bra is extremely important for your comfort and health. For that you should be aware about your bra size. Bra size in women may change time over time, so each time you shop for lingerie you should measure your bra size. Here is the step by step guide on how to measure your bra size.

Get in the natural position. Wear a standard underwire bra that is of your closest measurements. Bra should not be padded or push up, it should be capable of holding your breasts firmly. And stand straight, relax and comfortably in front of mirror. If possible have someone with you to help you in measurements.

Get a soft measure tape for taking measurements. Make sure that the tape is flexible enough to measure your curves and not too hard to harm your breasts.

Step 1 – Measure Band Size / Frame size

Wrap around the measure tape just below your breasts on the rib cage. Make sure that measure tape is wrapped tight enough to get the correct measurement and straight all the way around to not deviate the numbers. Tighter the measurement of band size better fit you will get for your bra. Take the nearest whole number and note it down for the band size of your bra. Use below table to identify your band size from your measurements.

Step 2 – Measure Bust Size / Cup Size

Wrap the measure tape on the fullest part of your breasts, usually this is just on the tip of your nipples. Also make sure that tape is wrapped straight all the way around. For Bust size tape should be moderately tight to not generate any pressure on your breasts. Also make sure that tape is not digging into your busts. So, remember this measurement should be moderately loose. Take the nearest whole number and note it down as the bust size of your bra. Bust size of the bra is also known as Cup size so don’t confuse between these two.

Step 3 – Measure above your busts (above your breasts) size / Under-bust size

This measurement is optional and not required for all bra types. To take this measurement, wrap the measure tape above your breasts just under your arms. Make sure you wrap measure tape straight all the way around and don’t wrap it too tightly. Keep it moderately tight. Take the nearest whole number and note it down.

Step 4 – Calculate your bra size

Subtract the band size (step 1) from your cup size (step 2). For each single digit difference the cup go up by one size. To make this simple, refer to below example

1: 34″ band = 36″ band size (by referring to table above)
2: 39″ over measurement
3: 39″ – 36″ = 3″ or C Cup Size
Your Size is probably a 36C
