I knew that drinking a lots of water is beneficial for health but i never knew that drinking water in certain way, at certain time and in certain quantity is a greatest secret for Weight Loss. Water is one of the most effective way to lose weight natural way without much dieting or hard exercise. Apart from keeping your body hydrated and protecting your body from various diseases, Water is the greatest way to lose weight, let’s take a look how it may happen!

I was reading a recent studies on techniques for drinking water for weight loss, and I came to know that timing and quantity is very important for drinking water. It says that drinking 2 glasses of water before each meal will keep your stomach full and prevent you from overeating that is the biggest cause for weight gain. So first rule is to drink 2 glasses of water before each meal.

Another reason for adding more pounds to your body is various soft and hard drinks available in market which are full of sugar and calories. I am not getting into other disadvantages of these soft drinks but it definitely one of the biggest cause of weight gain and makes you fat. Keep drinking some water every hour will satisfy your thirst and keep you away from these soft drinks. So second rule is to keep drinking some water every hour and keep yourself fully hydrated.

This deliberately replaces other calorie laden drinks with water. Instead of drinking cold coffee, tea, canned juice, or other drinks which are full of calories and sugar, water is the best alternative of them all. So the third rule is to replace all other drinks with water.

If you are doing workouts or yoga for weight loss, then all weight loss exercises suggests drinking lots of water. That is because water boosts up fat burning process in your body. If you don’t drink enough water then the fat burning process will slow down and you may not get desired results from your exercise or yoga. So rule number four is to drink enough water when you are doing yoga or exercise for weight loss.

The other way around, If you drink less water then it will make you dehydrated, which will result in tiredness which will lower your stamina for workouts and other physical activities. So rule number five is to keep drinking water to maintain your stamina for physical activities which directly results in weight loss.

We usually eat fiber as weight loss diet, but very few of us know that eating fiber without drinking enough water will not make any benefit in terms of weight loss but instead it will cause constipation. So rule number six is to drink enough water to digest fiber in your body which is a great weight loss nutrient.

Another study I went through clearly states that drinking cold water speed your metabolism. So drinking plenty of water becomes essential for proper diet and fat burn process in your body. Rule number seven says drink plenty of water to speed up your metabolism.

Following these Seven Rules for Weight Loss with Water will help you to shed extra pounds in your body and prove that water is the greatest way for weight loss.

Summer Health Problems

Summer is blessing for some and curse for others and I am in the second category. Modestly, summer doesn’t bring much of joy or health for people like me who are allergic to sun rays and with sensitive skin type. If you manage your diet wisely in summer then it could be a recipe for healthy summer diet. Let me tell you what I usually do in summer as far as eating and dieting is concerned

Drink Plenty of Water – Keep Dehydration away

I drink normal water on room temperature when I feel thirsty, that too bit more than my thirst. Kid inside me lures me to drink soft drinks, energy drinks, arrested water, chilled water, carbonated drinks and many more but for me health is much more important than impulsive desires. Cold drinks and carbonated drinks make several damages to your body that you can’t even think of. So better stick to normal water which has several health benefits. Keeping our body hydrated during summer is very important, otherwise dehydration can cause several long term and short term damages to our body. One habit I developed over the time is to keep a cool looking water bottle in my hand whenever I step out, it gives me a few sips of water whenever I need and also adds to the style statement.

Extra care of Hygiene – Keep Infections at bay

My 5 year old son always plays like he’s playing the last time, and at any point of time I find him dirty and dusty. Hence I have to ask him to wash his hands frequently. In summer bacteria and germs are very much active because they get the ideal temperature to survive and multiply. So children and elderly people are on high risk of getting infected. So in summer taking extra care of hygiene is essential. I have developed a habit of keeping small bottle in sanitizer in my purse, so anywhere I go with my hubby and son I have the liberty to sanitize our hands before and after eating anything. These small steps certainly makes the summer a healthy season.

Eat Light – Tackle Digestion Problems

We prefer more fruits and raw vegetables in summers compared to cooked, backed or fried foods. In summer, digestion capability of our body is not at its peak. So we have to modify our eating habits and start eating light food. Light food refers to low calorie foods. So, fried foods, spicy foods or any food which takes longer time for digestion should be avoided in the summer.  Digestion process needs energy for eating, absorbing, extraction nutrients from food and separating the waste from food. Human body will extract energy from eaten food to digest the food; this is called the thermal effect of the food. Foods which are high on Fat have very low thermal effect, hence such food are not advisable in summer.

Limit Salt and Sugar for Water Retention

Salt and Sugar and Honey are water retention agents, in summer external temperature is higher than normal body temperature, hence internal mechanism of human body tries to keep the body cool by sweating the water from the body. If the intake of salt and sugar is high then it will hamper this natural body process and cause a medical condition called water retention. This can lead to high blood pressure, weight gain and other medical conditions. Instead you should take natural sugar in fruits.

Balance the Body Fluid

In summers too much sweating leads to loss of body fluid, this condition can lead to dehydration, dryness of the skin, digestion problems, weakness and nausea. To balance the body fluid we should drink enough water, eat watery fruits and avoid spicy and fried foods. I personally prefer to start my day in summer with a glass of lemon juice, after afternoon nap I take a glass of coconut water and in both meals we take a glass of buttermilk.

What to Eat, What to not?

Simple rule of thumb I follow is eat whatever is raw, and avoid whatever is cooked. I eat lots of fruits and vegetable to minimize my hunger during main course, salad and fresh juices are best options for snacks. But one should minimize the intake of dry fruits as they are hard to digest. However some fruits and vegetables too are hard to digest and should be avoided, like spinach, radish, onion, garlic, beetroot, pineapple, grapefruit, mangoes, and hot peppers. And avoid chilled liquids as it creates unexpected heat inside the body. Human body reacts to each temperature, if you eat hot, it will create cool inside and if you eat cold, it will create heat inside.

This is learning from my personal experiences, myself and my family is highly benefited from these simple tips in summer.
