Mostly people think that they have healthy lifestyle and there is no need to modify it. But we do many wrong things in a day which we consider healthy habits. Indulging yourself in chocolate cake once in a while or having a day on the couch with chips or pakodas not going to make you unfit. But doing it every day is really unhealthy for you. Habits cannot be busted but they can be replaced. Here we discuss some unhealthy habits that we do everyday which are weight gaining habits.
Sleep Less and Get Fat!
An adequate sleep is essential for your health. Study shows that lack of sleep slows down your metabolism by 5-20% and modifies your level of hunger hormones. That’ why you feel hungry all the day and seriously splurging the next.
Eat while Your Drive!
If you eat meals like burger or samosas on your way because of lack of timing or they are easy to eat, then you take your daily calorie quota in one hit. Always carry a healthy meal and a bottle of water with you, if you do travel long distances.
Eating in front of Television
Eating in front of TV is also unhealthy habit of eating, because it makes you eat fast. When you eat in front of TV, your brain takes time to communicate that you are really satisfied or not. So allow that to happen and avoid watching TV when you eat.
Eating same thing, again and again
Even if you eat healthy food, you filling yourself with same thing in regular basis, then it make you bored and you will persuade yourself frequently to indulge with the food you love. So avoid eating same thing too much in daily basis.
Eating because of Peer Pressure
Mostly people finish everything in their plate because they don’t want to waste the food or because of peer pressure. But wasted food is wasted food, so don’t make your belly a garbage bin. Don’t force yourself for overeating. Overeating is harmful for your health, so serve yourself as much as you want to eat.
Meet up for a Drink or Shopping for a Coffee
Most of us have a habit to meet up with friends for coffee and mostly preferred flavor is hazelnut cream with slice of brownie. This fat loaded coffee on regular basis makes you fat and also an unhealthy habit. Drinking few beers every night is equal fat habit. So avoid such type of habits for healthy lifestyle.
Feed Your Mind
Smell your food before eating. Smell each item spoonful before you eat, this trick make your mind to believe that you have eaten little more than you have.
Instead of watching TV, go for walk. If you go to gym or you have treadmill, then you can do multi task. But if you don’t have then listen music while you walk those kilos away.
Go for your favorite form of exercise everyday. The more lean muscle you build, the faster you get rid of weight. Instead of meet up with friends for coffee or drinks, go for run or yoga classes with friends.
Drink plenty of water or you can also drink herbal teas. This is the best way to substitute tedious munching. Instead of drinks take herbal teas which give you instant refreshment and also healthy for you.
Stock up foods like cucumbers, celery, lettuce and drinks like herbal teas. Eat as much as you want because these free foods probably burns more calories.
What now?
You need to have reality check, not down every single thing that you did and every bit or drop that went into your mouth. If you are smoker, count the number of cigarettes even if they are considered healthy. Also list all the activities you did like how much hour you watched TV or went to sleep, how much hour you went for walking or any type of exercising. After 48 hours consult your nutritionist or a coach to indentify the fat habits and replace them with lean habits.
