Water jet assisted liposuction is one of the method of liposuction which is used by cosmetic surgeons. Like other liposuction technology, fatty deposits are removed from underneath the skin for more contoured look.

Instead of injecting tumescent fluid in the body and removing the fat cells manually with a cannula or using laser technology to liquefy and remove the fat, Water jet assisted liposuction uses a slightly pressurized stream of saline to remove the fat and at the same time remove the cells. Instead of destroying fat cells, this type of liposuction loosens fat cells to make easy more gentle removal. In Water Jet Assisted Liposuction tumescent fluid (saline and medicines including a local anesthetic) injected into to the body part being treated. Tumescent fluid is proven effective and so several alternate liposuction technologies are now using the tumescent technique for its local anesthetic benefits. Water Jet Assisted Liposuction then uses different processes to actually remove the fat and manage fluid levels.

Once the body anesthetized, then a cannula inserted into the tissue to irrigate and then simultaneously suction the loosen fat cell from the body. Lastly any remaining fluid is removed. The procedure is considered gentle and minimally invasive and the force seen in traditional liposuction methods is not required in Water Jet Assisted Liposuction.

Water Jet Assisted Liposuction Procedure

In Water Jet Assisted Liposuction treatment first local anesthesia is delivered in to body to anesthetized targeted tissue. Then small incision is made to insert the cannula into the tissue to perform the liposuction.

The specialized device used to perform Water Assisted Liposuction uses cannula with openings near the tip on the both side and top. The top opening is used to deliver pressurized saline water in a 360 degree fan, which destroys the fat without damaging nerves and blood vessels. During procedure water is continually added to loosen additional areas of excess fat, not like traditional tumescent liposuction, in which large volume of liquid is injected earlier to the fat removal process. This fluid usually contains lidocaine a local anesthesia so that the tissue remains numb throughout the duration of the procedure.

The holes in the sides of the cannula are used to suction out both the loosened fat and the water. The surgeon moves the cannula beneath of the skin to target accurate areas of excess fat. Once all the targeted fat removed then the cannula is removed from the fat layer. The incision generally not requires sutures.

This is another liposuction technology which does not need general anesthesia which reduces cost of the treatment and risks to patient. There is less bruising and bleeding cause in Water Jet Assisted Liposuction. Because of the fluid management used in this technique, the surgeon can do more detailed anatomical estimation while performing the procedure. In this treatment the area of the body which being treated isn’t swell up so the surgeon can see the results of the liposuction.

Advantages of Water Jet Assisted Liposuction

Currently Body- Jet Liposuction by Eclipse is famous technologies in use which is launched into the market in 2009. Water Jet Assisted Liposuction is become popular in very short time because of the effectiveness and the quick healing time. These new technology has a reputation for offers gentler and more accurate approach and faster recovery time. Water assisted Liposuction patients may experience less bruising and discomfort than the traditional liposuction.

In this technique the fat is removed gently rather than scraped away, as with other liposuction techniques. The contours created are exceptionally smooth. This technique is ideal for the treatment of fibrous areas of fat like those located on the thighs, back and buttocks. It is less useful to treating smaller areas of the body like face. This gentle removal of the fat preserves it in a healthy state so it making possible to re-implant it in fat transfer procedure. The fat can be used to augment the breasts, buttocks or other areas of the body without using artificial implants.

Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction (UAL) & Vaser – Ultrasonic Liposuction

Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction is also called Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction. Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction is known for safety and precision compare to older methods. This technique needs the use of a large volume of tumescent fluid and uses either metal probe or metal paddle to deliver ultrasonic energy and heat into subcutaneous fat. There are two major type of ultrasound assisted liposuction (UAL). Internal ultrasound assisted liposuction and External ultrasound assisted liposuction.

Internal ultrasound assisted liposuction involves ultrasonic energy delivered directly into the layer of fat, through a cannula that inserted through the skin. The same cannula will then be used to suction out the fat cells.

External ultrasound assisted liposuction involves ultrasonic energy delivered through a paddle shaped instrument placed against the skin.

The internal method is popular than the external method. Internal method is more effective to breaking apart the excess fat and that’s why it is the most commonly used method today.

In internal UAL surgeons uses general anesthesia or heavy IV sedation. Internal UAL has hugely been neglected because this method has the risk of full thickness skin burns and severe scaring.

The primary reports of internal UAL were unrealistically passionate. Some authors did not report their complications and other have learned of major UAL complications after publishing their article.

External UAL needs the use of tumescent fluid and metal paddle applied to the skin and directs ultrasonic energy into subcutaneous fat. External UAL device has never given approval from FDA for marketing and advertising of UAL devices to be specifically used for liposuction because of insufficient proof of the safety of UAL devices.

Ultrasonic Liposuction Procedure

Most ultrasonic procedures are same as tumescent liposuction procedures. Tumescent liposuctions require injection of large volume of fluid containing saline and lidocaine an anesthetic. This solution anesthetized the tissue and begins the process of breaking apart the fat. Then the cannula or thin metal tube is inserted through small incisions in the skin.

After that ultrasonic sound waves are targeted to the fat layer, further melting or breaking apart the fatty tissue. thi s ultrasonic energy targets the fat cells without damaging to the surrounding  tissues. Then the cannula used to gently suction the fat cells out of the body. Lastly the cannula removed from the body and incision may or may not be require sutures.

Vaser – Ultrasonic Liposuction

Vaser liposuction also called LipoSelection. This is another alternate technology to traditional liposuction. Vaser ultrasonic liposuction is a process in which fatty deposits are removed from underneath the skin to improve the aesthetics of the particular body part. Optimally patients who are treated with vaser liposuction are in god physical condition and are looking for body sculpturing or contouring while against to using liposuction as a way to lose weight.

In 2002 Sound Surgical Technologies, LLC introduced vaser ultrasonic liposuction. This FDA technology uses sound waves to gently loosen fat and pave the technique towards liposuction and smooth contouring of the body.

In vaser liposuction technique tumescent liquid or saline soluction mixed with anesthetics is injected into the particular part of be body being treated. Instead of using a cannula and manual movement to break down the fat tissue or laser or water pressure, vaser liposuction uses ultrasonic high frequency vibration to break apart the fat cells.

In this method the surgeon uses vaser ultrasonic probes, inserted into the fatty tissue to gentle break down of fat cells. The vibration gently separate and loosen the fat cells and finally emulsifies the tumescent fluid that has been injected into the body area. Once the emulsification is in process, a small cannula used to remove the liquid and the fat cells. Some of the local anesthetic remains in the tissue and that helps to decrease post-procedural pain.

Vaser ultrasonic liposuction is gentler than the more traditional liposuction techniques. This method offers accuracy of control and gives smooth, contouring look for which you are looking. Vaser liposuction is specially designed to loosen fat hence to protect and preserve other tissues. This method using the saline solution for usually less bleeding and bruising.

Vaser liposuction is best suited on the body areas include thighs, knees, abdomen, arms, chest, love handles, chin and neck. The procedure doesn’t need general anesthesia so lower the overall cost of the procedure and also decrease patient health risk. You can have IV sedation or general anesthesia; it just depends on the course of action you choose. If you go for vaser assisted liposuction makes sure you discuss the process and the complete procedure so you entirely understand what will happing on the day of your treatment.
